AdaptiveRF™ Architecture
AdaptiveRF is an advanced silicon architecture that enables the development of CMOS
power amplifiers for cellular handsets. This advanced technology has overcome the
efficiency performance barrier that CMOS has experienced in the past. The AdaptiveRF
architecture has proven to achieve better Power Added Efficiency (PAE) than leading GaAs
power amplifiers under real-world operating conditions of reduced output power, low battery
voltage and antenna mismatch. This greater PAE results in increased talk time or allows use
of smaller, lower cost batteries and sets a new performance standard for cellular phones.
AdaptiveRF also leverages the availability of high volume, low cost CMOS foundry capacity,
providing manufacturers with a lower risk, lower cost solution when ramping into high volume
production.
